The idea of transforming the Butterfly into aluminum is a pretty bold concept. The original Butterfly design is really something you don’t want to mess around with. After a lot of thought, we finally decided to design something aimed towards modern responsive yo-yoing; maintaining the feel of the original Butterfly but gearing the yo-yo towards a trickset that wasn?t invented at the time of the original Butterfly?s release. Our goal became to keep that timeless Duncan feeling, to make the yo-yo play responsively without sacrificing performance, and, of course, to keep the look of the Butterfly AL as close to that of the original Butterfly as possible. This Yo-Yo is responsive. Default bearing is size c. For narrower gap, use half spec bearing size c.

This month’s throw is from MonkeyfingeR.

The Gelada 2 is a fun casual high performance yoyo. The design keeps the same width, diameter, and weight as the original, with some other updates for modern play.  There’s a new bump around the response area to open up the profile, and the flow groove itself is now larger to allow for better and more consistent binds. The weight has been redistributed for better stability and longer spin times, this NEW timed exclusive colorway – Persistent Pressure.

This month’s throw is from Doc Pop. This updated Bolt, also known as the BoltXP, has the same shape and feel as the classic Bolt from the 2000s, but with a few small updates to improve play. The Bolt is made from machined POM (very similar to delrin) and features schmoove grooves. The caps are removable. It comes unresponsive, with a C bearing installed, but you can put in a half-spec bearing for responsive play. The Caps are TMT exclusives along with the color. Included is a glove because we love you.

This month’s box was from YoYoFormula by way of YoYoSam (Thanks Mitch!). The J1 was designed as a flashy entry level responsive yo-yo, the YoYoFormula J1 features an anodized aluminum body for maximum durability and sleep time, wing shape for easy catches and each color has a unique pattern laser engraved into the rim for unmatched styling! 

To round out the box we have included a Bahama Kendama in various colors as well (with a HAT).  All Bahama Kendamas ship to you with the Ken and Tama pre-strung with the Tama on the spike. Each Bahama Kendama has a sticker of certificate of authenticity on the Ken.

Bahama Kendamas feature three cups of different sizes with the Bahama Kendama logo in the big cup for easy identification and orientation.

This month’s throw is from Oh Yes Yo. The P-51 in the Unholy satin PURPLE finish is amazing.  What started with a simple drawing on pen and paper was carefully refined at World’s 2019. Now it’s final iteration comes to life with the OHYESYO P.51. Drawing inspiration from light and nimble aircraft, the yoyo shares these attributes and creates a unique playing experience. Accompanied in the box is 1 of 2 Enamel OhYesYo Pins, some strings and a Gold Bearing.

This month’s box is from Thesis. The Da Capo Concave Edition in Green with Gold Caps is a TMT exclusive color. The Da Capo was designed around the Serenade, an iconic Delrin that grew Thesis into the brand it is. While maintaining the nostalgic play of the Serenade, the DC takes a step into the direction of exploring a new aesthetic: anodized caps on a Delrin body. This allows for both a unique feeling on the string and a variety of colorways previously exclusive to metal yoyos to be brought into the machined plastic world!

This month’s throw is from Freshly Dirty. The Modular 44 is Freshly Dirty’s first yo-yo design with interchangeable rims. By using one standard hub that is compatible with all 3 included sets of delrin rims, one yo-yo can truly act and feel like 3 entirely different designs. The Mod44 uses an O-ring system to keep the rim aligned and spinning smoothly, even after extended periods of regular wear and tear. We have a mix of C & D bearings so you get what you get and we included an extra set of hatchback rims to boot! Some string was also sent to balance the box.

This month’s throw is a collab from Rain City Skills & Oh Yes Yo!  When I (Jeremy from Rain City Skills) approached Coffin Nachtmahr Of Oh Yes Yo with the idea to do a collaboration called the skater, he was 100% on board right away. His first suggestion was that the name needed to be spelled Sk8r. From there, designing the yoyo to look like a skateboard wheel was a given. We started this process in the beginning of 2018.

This bundle, which is an exclusive color to the monthly throw, includes a minifig, a minifig sk8 board, a pair of light up glow mods,  a fingerboard that doubles as a stand and stickers and string. I’ve nicknamed the colorway lemon drop fizz.

This month’s throw is the latest release from yoyofriends  and takes a different approach to their usual competition focused design with a fun refreshing design. This is the all new KOI!

The KOI showcases a different side of yoyofriends by focusing on flow and play feel. It has an overall organic shape that still packs plenty of performance.
